About Us
The Kentucky e-Health Corporation (KeHC) is a non-profit organization created to implement, develop and operate a Kentucky health information network.
As its initial task, KeHC will develop a payor-provider web portal, which will allow physicians and other authorized providers instantaneous access in a secure and confidential manner to patients' healthcare information available in electronic format. This sharing of information will benefit Kentuckians, allowing for more efficient and higher quality care. Called the Kentucky Health Information Partnership, or KHIP, the project is intended to be just the first phase of a larger, more long-term vision of developing a statewide e-Health Network in Kentucky that provides both healthcare and public health information across a range of settings.
Kentucky’s e-Health Action Plan, released in April 2007, calls for the development of a technology structure that is flexible and can ensure interoperability with established and emerging RHIOs and HIEs and/or provide a platform to share health information with a variety of local, state and regional healthcare and public health entities as well as with the Nationwide Health Information Network.
